Lives and Catastrophes...

Within a week, we had at least 4 catastrophes. The world has indeed becoming more and more intolerant towards humans. Then again, would it be that they were the "great" doings of humans? I read the novel by Crichton; "State of Fear". Apparently, people could "conjure" such catastrophes.

Anyway, Typhoon Ketsana (Vietnam), Typhoon Parma (Philippines), quakes in Padang, Indonesia and the Samoan Islands as well as the tsunamis, have taken lives. I cannot imagine having to go through the same ordeal time and again, to survive. It doesn't take a scientist to figure out the impact and grief that had befallen the unfortunate citizens of these countries.

Times like these, you see governments rise to the occasion to deploy aids and funds to these countries. How effective? I can't say. But such deployments inject much hope into the victims of these cats.

So, while we're out and about celebrating the mid-autumn festival, birthdays, anniversaries and etc, we must remember that we're blessed. At the same time we're doing the above, others are suffering the wrath of Mother Nature.

I'm not a party pooper, but it's of utmost importance that we feel blessed!

Yeap, but on the other hand, had to be done for sake of development. Hmmm.. It's a debate.

I feel sad for the victims too. Very sudden. It's like a worldwide synchronized catastrophes.
