My Gym: Clark Hatch @KL Hilton

Today, I feel like writing about my gym. I can say with confidence that my gym (Clark Hatch @KL Hilton) is by far the best gym I've joined. Before I start harping about it, I must tell you that I've been to True Fitness, Celebrity Fitness, California Fitness and Fitness First. Of these four, my worst experience was with Fitness First (FF). Two possible reasons to this:

(1) Too high expectations at my end; or
(2) They are just plain rude...

However, my friends seem to have high regards for FF. So, we shall leave it at that. Let's move on to my gym. LOL.

As you push open the heavy glass door, 2 friendly Clark Hatch's staff at the reception would greet you by name. Without asking, they know your preference i.e. what size of shirt and pants you wear, preference of locker i.e. top or bottom and the number of towels (big and small) that you require. Once you have everything that you need, you proceed to the locker room. One fantastic thing I like about Clark Hatch is that you don't even need to bring anything, except your shoes. Very convenient.

The cozy and nicely lit locker room is fantastic. But that's not the main thing. When you want to start your workout, you will walk along a short hallway to the gym area. As you push the heavy wooden door, you're greeted by Jazz music and sometimes, contemporary pop music. Volume: Just right!

Air circulation is brilliant because the ceiling is a 3-floor ceiling (the ceiling actually made the music that's played, sound even better). When you work out, you don't feel that you're ever short of oxygen. When you run on the treadmill, instead of having a "cluster" of TVs in front and you select your channel from your machine, Clark Hatch has individual LCD mounted to every machine. Earphones are provided if you wish to use them. Very personalised and very chic.

When you want to cool down after a strenuous workout, adjourn to the pool of KL Hilton. Enjoy the sun deck provided by the hotel and if you want a drink, you could always walk to the pool bar and get a glass of wine, vodka or just fruit juice, if you like. The outdoor jacuzzi is simply irresistible in the evening, under the stars. If your friends or gym buddies do not wish to take a dip in the jacuzzi, then they could sit on the very spacious seats provided and sip drinks and be merry; talk, joke and laugh the night away.

If you prefer a more private session of pampering, the male and female wet areas have jacuzzi, steam room and sauna room. Rejuvenate after a good workout. If you so wish, be a patron of Clark Hatch's LifeSpa. Select from a wide range of massages and/or spa packages and get pampered!!

Once you are done, take a shower in one of the individual cubicles. You will not feel like you're using a communal shower at all because each shower room is covered from the top to the bottom. There's no such thing as open top; the type where you could chat with your friends while showering. Gel, blower and cotton buds are provided. If you think you still need some rest from your workout after showering, rest on the sun deck chairs provided in the lounge and watch some news or etc on the 2 large LCDs mounted on the wall, on each side. If not, just rest or sleep on it till you're satisfied, all while listening to very soothing music played throughout the entire wet area and lounge.

Life is indeed wonderful with Clark Hatch! :).

Hey there LM2, been busy lately? :)...

It's a very good gym. It's not commercial and it's just nice for a person like me. I can't remember how much is the membership. I went for the yearly version. I think it's about 1.6k or somewhere around that region.

Where do you go to?

Hey John.

The week's been busy-ish - few days really busy in the ofice, and few days sitting there with nothing to do. Apart from that, it's same old same old.
Today's quite busy meeting up with friends and running errands. :) Yourself?

About the same price as what I'm paying then, but mine is only for the gym I go to - California Fitness in Pyramid. So I reckon it's quite pricey. Is yours a passport or only for Clark Hatch at KL Hilton?

Hey, sorry for the super slow reply. :). Mine is passport. I can go to any Clark Hatch. But so far, none beats KL Hilton due to its facilities. Haha. It's small but you feel good thanks to its personal attention given to every member of the club. :).

Honestly, I don't foresee myself changing club anytime soon in the near future!
